Reflection

The African fashion exhibition was very interesting and my favorite part was reading the history behind the changes in fashion and the meaning behind the cultural aspects of African fashion. There was a lot of bright colors and nature as symbolism while in the exhibit so for the sketches I looked up the state of national flowers/plants of every place I have lived. The idea for my fabric samples turned out how I imagined them and I think the inspiration translated well into the patterns. I wish there was more time to make my samples look cleaner but the different printing methods were fun to test out, although I preferred the heat press over the mono printing.
